About me:
First, I thought it couldn't hurt to introduce myself!
I'm Claire! If I were to describe myself I’d say I’ve fallen in love with self-improvement. I’m never satisfied – in the good way. I love that a person has an infinite capacity to grow and learn. There’s no shortage of knowledge or skills in the world and I want to know them all. Obviously, such a thing isn’t possible, so I settle with what I can.
Other than that, though, I like to think I’m fairly normal. When my nose isn't stuck in a book, I spend my time pretending I like to exercise. Otherwise, I'm probably layered in scarves and blankets, sipping tea while watching my cat - who is likely plotting world domination.
Mostly, I mean for this blog to be about things I like – and you like. There’s beauty, there’s fashion, and who can live without sharing recipes? Distractions, because let’s face it, I get distracted very easily. There’s no stopping me! Then there’s a lifestyle category, for life lessons and development because there’s always something more to know and learn. More might be added as this blog grows and matures, but for now, those are what I like.
This Blog:
Like many ideas of mine, this blog started out as little more than a collision of desires, made up of a thousand different aspirations and smaller ideas. As soon as I actually sat down – slowed down – and thought about it, I realized what I wanted came down to two things: You and me. It all amounted to a want to grow and to make myself the person that I’ve always wanted to be.
For quite some time I had been thinking that as a young adult and professional, I was lost. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, no way of figuring that out. I needed a place to be myself and I had something to say but I just didn’t know how to say it. As I sat and truly thought about what I was seeing both online and in my everyday life and I realized perhaps the most important thing; I wasn’t alone.
Though I may have started this as a safe space for me to write about my journey into (full) adulthood and self-discovery, it is just as much for you as it is for me. Wherever I end up on this journey, I wanted to show others, too, that they weren’t alone – where ever they may be in their lives.
Whatever I find along the way – be it a way to spark creativity or a comfort with cameras and writing – I want to share it with you, allow you to join me on my journey.
